Ravindra Kumar Yerramsetti

Ravindra is the Founder and Managing Director of TYBR. He is responsible for shaping the company’s growth and revenue strategy while also overseeing its key operations and long-term initiatives. He aims to establish TYBR as the number one undergraduate study abroad consultancy.

Education and Professional Background

Ravindra holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS Pilani and a PGDM (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta.

His professional journey spans over 26 years, much of which has been spent running his own entrepreneurial ventures. He has successfully promoted and exited three companies:

  • SMSCountry Networks: a provider of transactional and bulk SMS APIs to Fortune 500 companies in India and the Middle East

  • Q-Tickets.com: an online ticketing service catering to audiences in Qatar

  • 160by2.com: a free, ad-supported SMS platform that attracted over 12 crore users

Before starting his entrepreneurial journey, Ravindra worked with Tata Steel at their Hot Strip Mill in Jamshedpur, where he handled the maintenance of high-voltage equipment. He also spent time at Kotak Mahindra Bank, working in the Securities and Wealth Management Divisions in Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Why Study Abroad?

Ravindra’s decision to work in the study abroad space (higher education) comes from a strong belief that education changes lives. He believes that when young people have access to good education, they are able to create better futures for themselves, their families, and their countries.

In his book The New Wealth of Nations, economist Surjit S. Bhalla explains that the biggest reason for the rise of developing countries like India and China over the last 30 years has been the spread of education. Education has helped millions move out of poverty and into the middle class. Ravindra has seen this happen in real life, and it is one of the reasons he believes so strongly in what he does.

He also draws inspiration from Jamshedji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group, who said:

“What advances a nation or the community is not so much to prop up its weakest and most helpless members, as to lift up the best and most gifted so as to make them of the greatest service to the country. I prefer this constructive philanthropy which seeks to educate and develop the faculties of the best of our young men."

Ravindra believes that the right education, in the right environment, can open doors. He sees studying abroad not just as a way to get into a good college, but as an opportunity to learn, grow, and come back ready to make a difference.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Ravindra enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with his family and friends. He is a fan of the Harry Potter series, the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and finds inspiration in personalities like Jamshedji Tata, Sachin Tendulkar, and A.R. Rahman.
